Sinker Western Red Cedar / Curly Maple
Click here for Youtube Videos of this guitar
This beautiful and one-of-a-kind Orchestra Model guitar has back and sides of curly sugar maple, stained to a rich honey brown, with a top of sinker Western red cedar. This top wood is from a log that was salvaged from a Pacific Northwest river bottom after having sunk in the late 1800's on the way to the sawmill. As a result of more than a century soaking in this mineral-rich water, this salvaged wood not only exhibits a beautiful deep brown-red appearance, but it also produces a wonderful sound with rich and complex overtones. The guitar also has a Palo Escrito headplate, and a unique black granite/resin and Claro walnut rosette. This guitar has a rich bass that balances well with the distinct mid and treble tones, and exhibits excellent sustain and separation.
This guitar is currently my personal guitar and is used as a shop demo.
